The other players to accomplish this task are Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy, and Wayne Gretzky.

That's pretty mediocre company in terms of goal scorers.

I've been saying for a few years that Kucherov was the next Fedorov in terms of offense and taking over a game. He's certainly no slouch at defense either.

They're no Selivanov/Bellows/Gratton.

Ya. He should fire his agent. That contract was a STEAL!!!! Good for Tampa. Your team is great. I mean no disrespect to Stammers, but is he really that good (power play aside obviously). He seems to have the glory role, just one-t's. Meanwhile the other boys seems to work both ends of the ice to perfection. Thoughts?

Kucherov is simply awesome, but I’d be hesitant to start even hinting at “top dog” eight games in.

Not saying he won’t be, but there should be reality on what is sustainable.

Really impressed by Kucherov, the lighting are looking great this year. I like the consistency, not a fan of the guys who light up weaker teams and disappear when the checking gets tighter. Should translate well to the playoffs.

I'm not a TB fan. I mean, they're in my Top 5 favorite teams, but I wasn't born in FL, haven't lived in FL, and wasn't a fan until they drafted Stamkos.

Top player, especially for a winger, will never be given easily or universally. But calling him elite/top 10 player in the league isnt just based on a hot 8 games. He was top 5 in scoring ladt year while missing 8 games and not playing with any other top line players for long stretches. And his defensive game is better than a lot of other top offensive options. Not gonna say hes best player in the league because he isnt but its time hes at least mentioned in the conversation for top winger based on his quick start, last season, proven year to year development and all around game.

I think alot of it has to do with him being a second rounder. The top players in this league like McDavid, Matthews, Kane, Kopitar, Tavares, Seguin, Crosby, Malkin, Scheiffele, Ovie, Eichel, Tarasenko all where early first round picks. They get the star mark on them from the get go. When a guy like Kuch comes in as an unknown second rounder, it takes longer for people to discover him. As a lightning fan tho, this comes a no suprise as he has been steadily improving his game every season since he came up as part of the triplets line.
